The Circus with a Purpose: Circus Starr is a touring circus boasting world-class professional artists from across the globe. It was first founded in 1987 to help raise much-needed funds for local charities whilst providing free seats for thousands of disadvantaged, disabled or vulnerable children.
Through its unique network of partner charities and local businesses, Circus Starr provides over £1.3 million worth of free tickets to children, their families and community groups throughout the UK every year.
The Cambridge NAS Branch has been given 30 free tickets for this event. If you would like to take your family to Circus Starr, please email the Branch. If there is enough interest in the tickets we will look into providing transport to and from the venue.
If your child finds going to new places and enjoying a show a challenge, you may be able to make use of Circus Starr’s new app: Show and Tell. This app has won the National Autistic Society’s Best New Technological Innovation Award 2015 in the Autism Professionals Awards 2015. It can be used to present a visual social story explaining all the stages involved in the trip to the Circus Starr Show. This app is currently only available for apple devices, just search for ‘Show and Tell app’. If you are interested in the app but don’t have access to an ipad or iphone, contact the branch and we will try to help
