We are taking bookings for our new life skills holiday club for over 16s with autism spectrum conditions. We will be using arts, crafts, cookery and gardening to help you progress and develop including meeting different people, learning something new, practicing work skills, developing self confidence, and giving attendees the chance to get involved in peer mentoring. Wednesday 5 & 12 April and Thursday 6… & 13 April.
Exciting new short courses
Our “Crafty Sew and Sows” project (which teaches, and then supports learners, to share the skills our grandparents took for granted) is now available as a modular immediate short term respite activity or time limited reablement option, from 1 day a week upwards, as well as for those who need ongoing support.
This term Crafty Sow and Sews which has already featured bread making will be focussing on Growing your Own – vegetables, fruit, flowers, kitchen gardens and cottage gardens. Future projects will include knitting, making fires and playground games. For each skill, we also hold a “Grab a Skill” day where the learners can share the skills they have learnt with different members of the community including local primary and secondary school children.
Did you know that we also offer:
– A life skills programme for anyone with autism and challenging behaviour?
– Our own minibus transport service?
– A carer at £15/hr?
