About the seminar
“Understanding Autism” is one of the Autism Seminars for Families which provides information and advice to parents and carers of children who have received a recent diagnosis of autism. This seminar is aimed at parents of children aged 11 and over.
The seminar will help families to:
• Develop an understanding of autism
• Discuss experiences of getting a diagnosis
• Identify how autism can affect families
• Explore practical ideas for developing communication strategies
• Clarify support that families may be entitled to and ways to access it.
How to book a place
Families can book one place on the seminar, but if there are spare places nearer to the day, these can be offered to partners, other family members or carers. You will receive a full resource pack of useful information, advice and support guidelines.
Lunch/refreshments
Teas & coffees will be provided, but please bring your own lunch.
Who is running the seminar?
This seminar is delivered jointly by Cambridgeshire Parent Partnership Service/SENDIASS and the Cambridge branch of the National Autistic Society, using materials bought from the National Autistic Society. There is no charge to parents/carers.
